Don't be afraid of silence... Sometimes that's where you hear the most!.. <3 Kebe

Love Me Some Vintage!

Fashion is amazing as you know I'm obsessed and it's timeless! Don't shy away from vintage shops you could find some hidden treasure's if you if you let yourself have a little patience when going into those types of stores. I'm obsessed with this 70's suede crop jacket I found downtown in NYC! I actually got it a few years ago but this jacket just never get's old! Even though we are approaching December here on the east coast we are getting some pretty strange weather. I was able to take out this piece and paired it with some of newer pieces in my closet and it just pops! It looked chic with my new Vivienne Westwood booties that I picked up in LA a few months ago at my FAV LA boutique on Sunset Blvd. CODE C! ; ) These booties even though they are new have a vintage feel which I love! Vivienne's pieces are amazing for that! Enjoy guys!! xoxo

Thankful!

Just got back from LA very early Tuesday morning. Feels great to be back in NY and spending time with my family. My youngest brother Matthew came out to LA with me this last trip it was so great to have him around with me out in la la land. I've been laying low working on the new material. I haven't really even seen friends since I've just been focused on getting the new project underway. I'm loving who I've been working with! These sessions have really been the example of why I love making music and being in this industry! I've finally after everything that I've had to go through and deal with at the top of this year, getting back to a place that's just about the music and the songs and being nothing but totally creative & above all an artist! I'm especially thankful for my managers Jeremy Rosen and Tobin Watkinson for that and it's only the beginning! I really wish these batch of songs were finished already so you all could hear them finally, but the wait will be worth it and the songs will be amazing! ; )

I really hope that you all are enjoying this holiday season with all your loved ones, family and are in a beautiful & peaceful place in all of your lives! I'm especially thankful for all of you in my life and supporting my everyday and all the new fans who continue to find my music & continue on this journey with me! All my love to you and yours on this Thanksgiving Eve!

Blacked Out.....

Anyone who knows me really well knows that I am completely Halloween and Horror movie obsessed! For the past few years now I have been dying to find a legit Haunted House or Halloween attraction that would really live up to their hype. I've said when talking about it that I want to go to something that scares me so bad I might actually cry. lol Yes, I was told I was nuts. With that said my cousin Missy is also seriously into anything horror just as much as I am and she's usually the nut and my partner in crime that goes on these adventures with me. I was talking to her on the phone one night about a week before I was coming home from my last trip working in LA and she had told me one of her friends said if she really wanted to get the shit scared out of her to check out Blackout NYC.. So literally as she tells me check it out and let me know if you want to go I jumped on their site, called the rest of my silblings, my sister's boyfriend and another one of my cousins and rapidly bought 7 tickets. I called her back to let her know I got tickets and all of sudden from that moment we started buggin ourselves out. LOL
No turning back now! lol

Ok, so for like the entire week I was home leading up to the Sunday night we were going my heart was doing flip flops everytime I thought about it and I think I even lost some sleep a few nights. Which made me even more excited.. I know weird! Some grown men and even people I work with in the industry looked at me like I was totally bat crazy out of my mind for subjecting myself to something like this.

So let me tell you why! The first thing that sets this haunted house apart from any other is that you MUST walk through alone! Yes, I said it ALONE! GENIUS!! :D You have to sign a waiver before you go in as the rules
are: (directly from the site)

  1. YOU MUST WALK THROUGH ALONE.
  2. You must be over 18.
  3. Stay on the marked path at all times.
  4. You will be prompted to do certain actions. Please do exactly as you’re told. This is for your safety.
  5. There is absolutely no speaking allowed inside. You can, however, scream as loud as you’d like.
  6. Do not ever touch the actors.
  7. Do not ever touch the walls.
  8. You must wear a protective mask and carry a flashlight at all times. (We will provide both of these items for you. Please do not bring your own.)

If you have an emergency while walking through the house and need to be escorted out, please yell the word “SAFETY” as loud as you can. Stay where you are, remain calm, and someone will come to get you and bring you out. Once you call “SAFETY”, there are no refunds and there are no options but to leave.

Please be aware, you will encounter:

FOGSTROBE LIGHTSCOMPLETE DARKNESS
CRAWLINGSTAIRSLOUD NOISESWATER
PHYSICAL CONTACTSEXUAL and VIOLENT SITUATIONS

Ok so did you read that whole last part?! So just so you really understand, you are NOT just walking through this thing and having people just jump out from behind a corner and yell boo and sneak back away from you. You are actually interacting with the actors in this house and completing tasks in each room to advance through. They really do an amazing job of adding to the suspense before it's your turn. Your waiting on line watching people one by one disappear into a slit in the wall and your heart and body tempature just rise like crazy. Then

you get to watch the people who are making it all the way through being thrown and running out on the other side of the room. What bugged me out was when it was my turn I couldn't tell as I started walking through the first little area if it had started or not as it's already pitched black and foggy.. That was just as scary as what I encountered as I went through. I'll admitt I did actually think to myself at that moment WTF am I putting myself through right now. My mother had a bet going that about 3 out of the 7 of us were def calling "safety" and I just heard her voice and I was like HELL NO! I'm going through with this no matter what & pushing myself to the very end!!

I'm not going to give any spoilers here as the house is still going on and extended dates into Nov. But I will say that I made it the whole 20/25mins through and am still in totally shock as to what I actually did down there!! That whole time felt like an entirnity!! Every situation just keeps getting weirder and weirder. I found myself being terrified in pitch black not being able to gage the size of rooms shaking, crawling through tight spaces, handcuffed &.... we'll save that part for later ; ) & putting my hand in some pretty gross places, to name a few. The best part was running out the end, drenched and seeing all the other people's terrified faces starring at you waiting in line wondering why the hell I looked the way I did.. My brothers, cousin Mike & I just burst out laughing as soon as I came running out. Maybe partically out of relief to.

Sounds pretty sick right? The sicker part is that I'm kinda sad it's over already! LOL The experience doesn't just end when you leave. The aftermath of it all is just as good as the house. Blackout totally lived up to my expectations of being the most intense and extreme haunted house in NYC. It's definetly the best one I have ever experienced and I'm already excited for next years haunt and will totally be making it a Halloween tradition! They also do a midsummer's haunt which is invite only and twice as long in length. Lovely! :) haha It's all I have been talking about in all my session's during this week and I think now one of my managers if not both after seeing the site think I'm totally insane! LOL

Well ok enough rambling from me if you haven't been to Blackout NYC get your behinds over and check it out! All true halloween/horror fans should put themselves up to the challenge and I guarantee you'll be become addicted just like me! You got my co-sign Blackout, loved it!!! A big thank you to the creator's Josh Randall & Kristjan Thor and all of their crew for making this one of the best Halloween's to date for me! Finally a Haunted House with some balls!!! Bravo, You hooked me! Can't wait to check out the next one! ; )

"Light Years" Lyrics

Sorry I've been so bad with getting the lyrics for "No Questions Remain" up on the internet for everyone! So happy with all the new people finding and falling in love with NQR!! Thanks guys for all your support in continuing to push it out there! As promised I am working on the next batch up material for release and I promise it's only getting bigger and better from here! Thanks for sticking with me through everything! Love you All!!

"Light Years"

no word from you has got
me at the edge of my chair
so paralyzed my thoughts
won't let me move from here

when you left you told me not to cry
babe just trust in me
that it's only for a little while
can't stop what's meant to be

so I decided that I'd hold on
cause I believe in what you promised
was it in your plan all along
to leave me stranded

Hook:
Cause it like we're light years apart
left me with no signal to trace
all of our connection is lost
you're 5 trillion miles away
you're floating away from my heart
cause It's like we're light years apart
you're 5 trillion miles away

V2:
I sacrifice my sleep
wishing that you were here
the lies I tell myself
just to quite my fears

you come home and hold me close
but we can feel the space between
terrified to say that things are not
the way they used to be

so do we carry on in denial
hurting each other more each day
thinking if we just stay awhile
we'll close the distance

Hook:
Cause it like we're light years apart
left me with no signal to trace
all of our connection is lost
you're 5 trillion miles away
you're floating away from my heart
cause it's like we're light years apart
you're 5 trillion miles away

Bridge:
you left I stayed
because of those promises we made
abandon us when you went away
love is out of reach
your to far gone

Addressing my Nationality..

I get a lot of messages almost everyday as a matter of fact about my heritage and where I was born and raised. Yes my last name is Albanian, Shqiptare! My Father is Shqiptare and was NOT born in the United States. However, my Mother Is Italian, Irish, German and Scandinavian. She was born and raised in Bronx, New York. My father when he came to this country moved on the same block as my mother and grew up with her. They Married in their twenties. You don't hear stories like that often these days.

I have spoken about my nationality before and am extremely proud of where both my parents come from and their backrounds and how they they've raised my siblings and I. It's funny to me that I would get backlash from both sides of my race, example lying about being Albanian. Which is hilarious to me or the extreme opposite and people talking about my mother and saying nasty things because she is American. My father became a citizen of the United States when he was 18 which would make him an American as well. Which he is very proud to be and also holds duel citizenship.

Bottom line is I'm a mutt. Proud to be a mix and proud that I have so much history and BEAUTIFUL nationalities running through my veins. I'm proud to be the first generation on my father's side born in the states, proud to see what my father has built from the ground up and carry on and take it a step higher and make him proud as his and my mother's daughter, and proud to carry on the traditions of BOTH my families with my little ones someday. What get's to me is some of these comments are from girls, women. Ladies you are the barrier of your children. You carry and nurture them for 9 months inside YOU! They are HALF of whatever you are no matter who you marry. Would you marry someone to bare their children and then let them erase you as if you didn't exist? Be proud women and let's be gracious to eachother. A woman's heart is a powerful thing. Let's share that part of ourselves.

I love the love my parents have for eachother. I've talked a few times with them about some of the comments I've gotten on this subject and they've both said brush it off. I feel I need to write this just this once. I'll defend them both with all of myself because they are good hearted loving people! I'm blessed, truly! I tell myself that everyday!

How about from here on out we try to embrace life & love! My parents are right thought. For those who know me know who I am. I'm Kristine Elizabeth Bernadette ELEZAJ, daughter of both eagles. Albanian-American/Shqiptaro-Amerikane ; ) <3

Just Fabulous

What a fun night last night!! My brother Matt is with me in LA hanging while I'm working on all the new material! CAN'T WAIT TO FOR YOU GUYS TO HEAR IT BTW!!!

I took Matt with me last night to the Just Fabulous Kimora Lee Simmons event at the Sunset Tower and we had a blast! Kimora looked FABULOUSLY stunning and her new shoe line is just as Fab! Loved how they lined the carpet with them to so cute! ; ) You all know how I'm a shoe freak! haha I wore my black haired Fendi pumps last night that got their own camera love on the carpet! They have a sick 6 inch heel and platform, so hot! Rocked a comfy nude Equipment jumper with them.

Angel...

Yesterday was a shock for me to say the least. Nick Ashford was such a dear family friend & a man I owe so much to as he mentored me and was the reason my parents gave me the official go ahead to go after my dreams of music as my profession. Some of you may have read that I got my start at Ashford and Simpson's Sugar Bar in NYC when I was younger. What most of you may not know is that my father has known Nick since he was a teenager himself. As I was getting ready to graduate High School and was giving my parents grief about getting seriously into the music industry as my career my father called Nick for his advice and Nick had my Dad take me down to the sugar bar. I'll never forget that night and I as think about it, it seems just like yesterday when I got up on their stage and started belting out "Respect" by Aretha Franklin. What a lucky girl I was to have Nick and Valerie jump in and sing backup during that performance. What an amazing gift to have known you the way my family and I did and have you believe in me from the very beginning. It hit me hard & I cried a lot yesterday as so many memories flashed through my head. I am truly heartbroken by the news but will hold in my heart forever our talks and advice I got to share with such an amazing man. My heart breaks for Valerie they were such an amazing couple to witness. Their energy together was so powerful & beautiful!

My Uncle took this picture of Nick and I out to dinner one night with Nick, Valerie & my parents in the city. My father and Nick were hysterical together. This was probably one of the funniest dinner's ever! Sad we won't be able to do this again but comforted to know we have you on the other side watching out for us!

Will miss that heavenly falsetto but God needed another voice for his choir. Rest in peace dear friend! Miss you and much love!! -Kriss

Kardashian Kollection for Sears

Last week I attended the launch party for the Kardashian Kollection for Sears. You guys are really going to love these pieces! The girls did an amazing job and are giving Sears some Sex appeal for sure ; )

My cousin Mike was in town for the week and I was really excited to take him around and show him LA. I took him with me to The Colony where the launch party was being held. It was cool to see him experience his first Hollywood outting! : ) Not a bad way to see LA for the first time aye? hehe

Can we just take a moment for my top.. lol Louver is the name of the designer and I'm getting really into their pieces! This top photographs really cool it almost looks like I have lace tattooed on me. I get a lot of Louver's pieces from my fav boutique in LA Code C in the sunset plaza. Just scooped up a new hot jumpsuit of theirs and I can't wait to rock it!

Colored Denim

So colored denim has been the trend in denim and I just wanted to share with you my fav pair of colored denim. If your into the look and have been looking for the right jean to rock with I think Rag and Bone has done the perfect crimson. I'm a huge J brand fan and have a lot of their denim but hands down I'm loving Rag and Bone's when It came to this colored piece. I picked this pair up at Barney's when I was in LA on my last trip and this was my first time trying their denim and I love the way they fit! I'm actually going to get into more of their jeans! I wore them yesterday to my meetings up at Universal for some listening sessions and then to the Miguel show last night at BB Kings. I paired them with my YSL black cage booties and a black button down with a hint of lingerie showing. Sexy! ; )

Bullrun Rally 2011

For those of you who are gear heads like me you might be familiar with the celebrity car rally Bullrun that's been around for a little bit. Bullrun since 2006 has been my father and I's guilty pleasure and extreme hobby! lol My Dad and I were actually the first father daughter team to ever run in the rally in 2006 and every year we have made it our one week that we can put aside work and just enjoy eachother's company our racing friends and our love to drive fast cars. Last year was the first year since we've doing the rally that we weren't able to participate because of our schedules and sadly this year I we won't be able to do the run because of my recording schedule since I'm working on a boat load of new material getting ready for a huge launch after the fall. I'm in an amazing place right now with my music and have to keep the momentum going. Also I'm going to be taking one vacation already to visit my grandparents in Europe and I'm leaving on the 15th when the rally actually ends in Miami. One vaca is all I an get out without taking to much time away from work. Duty calls! ; ) HOWEVER, the good news is that the day after my birthday since I can't stand to be away from my Bullrun family and I haven't seen a lot of my friends who do the rally since we all live all over the place I'm flying out with my Dad to be there for the start of the rally! Really excited to see everyone, all the amazing cars that are sure the be on the starting line this year (it's going to be a great line up seen some pictures of what some of my friends are planning on taking!) and of course meet some of the amazing fans as well! I'll be at the launch party on the night of the 8th and you can catch me on the starting line the morning of the 9th! Really excited for Bullrun this year as they are filmed in a lot of markets overseas and this year MTV will be taking over the filming for the US market! Should be an amazing week with of course tuns of epic stories! Will be joining you guys next year! ; ) Can't stay away for to long!

I'm a workout nut!

I'm up in my gym at my apartment doing some cardio for the evening (isn't the view amazing up here?! Took a pic while I did my workout. Not bad to admire to pass the time) and I was just thinking and laughing about a twitter post I did yesterday about the type of workouts I do to keep in shape. My body get used to workouts quickly since I'm pretty active all the time btwn rehearsals and just normal gym workouts so I need to change it up a lot and shock my body to keep getting results and not staying the same and wasting time in the gym. Yes, I have a trainer and have learned a lot from her about my body and how to keep in shape. We do weight training together and we throw in some boxing to add extra cardio and through off my body from getting used to workouts. I love my new pick wraps! Lol My brothers were making fun of at the gym the other day because of course I would have to have the pink wraps. Also on the top of my list of fav things to do for exercise and I have talked about it a lot is pole dancing. I found a great pole studio in my neighborhood New York Pole Dancing that I've been taking classes at for the past 2 years now. It's seriously one of the best exercises ever if you can push yourself through the bruising the happens when learning new tricks. I got so obsessed with it I even installed one in in my apartment to keep it up when I can't get to the studio. I've had it up for awhile now I forget it's there and it's hysterical watching people's faces when they walk in and see it! lol In all honesty you work muscles you never knew you had and your constantly challenging your body. To change up my cardio I also throw in some spinning because I get bored easily doing the usual treadmill or precore routine. There is this amazing studio called Soul Cycle they have a few locations on the east coast that I LOVE! It's the best because they turn the lights off for the class which I think helps you mentally push through the workout! Working out is definitely a life style and yes it hurts but it should be fun. Hope I've given you guys some new things to try ; )

Bullrun Rally 2011

Those of you who know that I have a love a cars also know that I'm usually apart of the Celebrity Car Rally Bullrun that happens every year. I wasn't able to join the rally last year because of work and sadly I won't be able to participate this year however I do have some time in the schedule that I'm going to flying out to Vegas to see everyone off for the start! It really is strange not being on the rally and is going to be so weird seeing everyone race off and not be going with them to the next checkpoint but I miss my racing family so much I had to make the trip and catch up with my friends face to face and not over the phone. Will post pics and get footage from the starting line and hopefully get a chance to meet some fans while I'm out there! The Rally kick ff is July 9th. My birthday is actually on the 6th so it's awesome that it's my birthday weekend. Looking on getting into town on the 7th and of course my Poppa is making the trip as well! See you at the starting line ; ) xo -kebe

I got stuck in LA

Meant to do this post sooner but I was so tired from traveling that as soon as I got back to NY I went straight to bed.. lol I was suppose to be back in NY from LA on the 20th but winded up staying an extra night in a hotel by the airport because silly me apparently hit July 20th on the cal. when booking my return flight date. I was upset when I got to the check in counter and found out what I had done. At first they couldn't even find my reservation it was like a nightmare. Needless to say we figured it out and took the first flight out the next morning. It was kind of annoying being as I was already mentally prepared to be flying through the night and tired from getting everything together to leave.. It was like so close to being home hahah just kidding. My mother was actually with me so we stayed at a hotel on the airport so we could just shoot right back over early but the room probably was one of the worst hotel rooms ever in life! lol We were laughing so hard. I actually slept on a scarf over the bed because the smell in the room was like moth balls that I was nervous what could possibly be on the bed! LOL Then my mother and I couldn't stop laughing because the room had a window in it but it overlooked out into the hallway. Like how weird!! Who thought that would be a good idea. I can just imagine sleeping with the shades up and people walking by and starring in. Creepy.. Had to take a picture to be silly!

After all of that and not sleeping for 24 hours because I couldn't sleep on the plane for some reason I'm finally back in NYC. I stayed up at my parents the last 2 nights and just came back down to my apt this evening. Had a great workout at the trainers with my brothers, unpacked a bit and extremely excited to finally getting some sleep in my own bed tonight! I have a lot of recording coming up and some more traveling so it's going to be a little nuts over the next few weeks for me. Lot's to do and I'm so excited about it!!

Billabong Save the Music

One of the coolest events I've been to in LA has to be the Billabong Save the Music event! The party was held in the outdoor lot at Paramount Studios. It was like partying in NY in the middle of LA. There was a concert going on down on of the alley ways, a swimsuit fashion show and tuns of artist working on stoops on amazing art work!

Papp'd in LA

This trip to LA been a crazy one. In a good way though. ; ) I have been going none stop with meetings and events since getting into town and today is the first day I'm getting a little me time.

The craziest thing that happened this trip was my paparazzi moment.. lol I was shopping in West Hollywood and the next thing I know.. click click click.. Looks like we're on the way haha.. Still feels kind of weird thinking about it. lol I'm just happy that I'm in a great place with amazing people around me! The energy is really inspiring!

Saw a comment about someone loving my sunglasses. They are my fav! Their Tom Ford : )

Back to LA

It's perfect weather here in LA, of course! My trip feel on perfect timing for the simple fact that it got me out of NY during the crazy heat wave that we were having! Don't get me wrong I LOVE summer and I'm a summer baby since I was born in July, but I was over that humidity and sticky weather really quick! I'm doing a lot of recording back in NY so I was kind of bummed I needed to ship out to LA really quick because I was getting really into my music and just being locked in the studio again. I'm working out of Platinum Sound in NYC & I'm in LOVE the the space and the artistry that goes on there! It's def like no other studio I'm worked out of before and the music is taking on a whole other life because of it's energy and people I'm working with these days!

I just landed in LA this morning to June gloom in full effect but now the sun is shining and it's making me feel amazing! I have some magazine interviews and meet and greets out here this trip with my publicist and some fun events to go to as well. : ) Of course meetings meetings meetings!! It's heavy grind time over here with the Elezaj camp! I have a lot to do and I'm getting antsy because I will going to Europe to visit my grandparents with my Dad and one of my brothers and sisters and I've never taking off for a vacation like that in, hmm well I can't remember.. I know it will be good for me but I'll of course be on my email like a mad woman.. I hope family doesn't see this post or they will problem make sure they hide my computer while I'm there..

But that's 5 weeks away so staying focused on what's in front of me right now here in LA LA land and of course looking forward to getting back to NY in about a week a half to jump back into the studio. I wish I could fill you in more on the material and who I'm working with but I promise in the next week or so I can tell you more!! : ) I'm dying over the new stuff and really can't wait to give you a little sneak peak as I know from your messages you've been excited about the new songs! There coming!! ; )

Back to Work

Hope you all had a great memorial day wknd and got lot's of rest! I got to sneak in some BBQ's myself inbtwn having to shoot some stuff & a meeting. I was planning on going out to MA with my good friends Olivia & Arie to her families house but work snuck it's way in... Was nice though in the city since everyone leaves for the wknd. It was so weird seeing it so empty! lol Had a little meeting after my shoot on the rooftop by the pool of the Gansevoort Park hotel. It was crazy hot up there but such a nice spot to just chill and have meetings! After that I drove upstate to spend the rest of the weekend with my family. It also was my cousin Mike's birthday a few days ago so we celebrated that on Sunday with good food and even better company. Everyone brought their dogs over to! We brought up the new puppy Neiko who you can see was pooped on the ride home! lol

Now it's back to work! I'm back in the studio tomorrow working on this new song "Lonely" which I'm SO excited about! I've been wanted to get in sooner and finish it but I was getting over that vocal swelling after that nasty sinus infection almost 2 weeks ago. Can't stand being out of it for that long! I've been filming a lot of the things that go on behind the scenes so I'll be showing you some studio life from the session! ; ) The new material is really amazing I can't wait for you to hear it! Have a lot to finish to since I'll be heading back to my second home LA on the 10th! Can't wait to get back out there I spent a lot more time in NY the last month.. There's lot's of stuff in the works to like a webseries Olivia, Arie and myself are filming! Can't speak to much on it now but will give you guys little bits of news as we go along!
